Your race record
How your finishes find you, why Slipside asks "Were you aboard?" instead of assuming, and how to add or remove a race.

Open your name at the top right, then Profile, then the Race record tab. Four numbers sit above it: Races in this year, Firsts in division, Best finish and Current entries.
Where a record comes from
Slipside starts from the sail numbers of your saved boats and looks for finishes against them. That has one consequence worth knowing straight away: no saved boat means no record at all, and a sail number that does not match what is painted will find nothing. Boats are added in the Slipside app.
A finish is added to your record automatically when either:
- you logged that race yourself, in the app or here, or
- you personally registered the entry for that series, in which case every one of your boat’s finishes in it counts as yours.
“Were you aboard?”
Everything else your boat sailed goes into a second list rather than into your record. The heading says why:
Your boats sailed these races. We do not assume you were on board, because most crew are not there every week. Add the ones you sailed.
This is the difference between a boat’s history and a person’s. An owner who never misses a week claims a season in a few taps. Crew get a record that is actually true.
- Scroll to Were you aboard?, under your record.
- Press I sailed this on each race you were on.
- Eight show at a time; Show all opens the rest.
The race moves up into your record straight away.
Taking one back
Press Not me on any row of your record. It removes your log of that race and puts it back in the list below. The published result is untouched; nobody else sees any of this.
One quirk: if a race counts as yours because you registered the entry for that series, Not me will not stick. It moves for now and comes back when the page reloads, because the entry still says the series is yours.
What the record shows
The columns are Date, Event, Division, Corrected and Place, and a place reads as your position out of the fleet, for example 3 of 12. The event name links back to its page.
Under the table:
Your record follows the boat across every club that publishes to Slipside. A finish never changes because of an unpaid entry fee.
Two limits
The record reaches back through your boats’ most recent few hundred finishes, so a long history can be cut off at the far end.
And the four numbers at the top of the page count only what is in your record, not what is waiting in Were you aboard?. A season you have not claimed yet reads as zero.
