The event page
What is on an event's page, in the order you meet it: schedule, standings, results by race, entry list and documents, plus the box that takes your entry.

Every series and regatta has one page, and its address is short enough to paste into an email: racing.slipside.app/e/ followed by the event’s name in lower case with dashes. That link is what a club puts in a newsletter.
The top of the page
The burgee, the event name, then the season, the number of races and the number of divisions. Beside them sit pills: the registration pill, Racing tonight when a race is dated today, and Standings provisional or Standings final. Divisions follow as grey pills.
Under that is the club’s own description of the event, or, when the club has not written one, a sentence built from the facts: who runs it, over how many races, and how it is scored.
The sections, in order
Schedule lists only the races still to sail, grouped by month, with the date, the race label and First warning when the club has published a start time. It shows six, then a Load more races button.

Results by race is one row per race night, newest first, with the most recent already open. Tap a row to expand it and the finishes load underneath, one table per fleet. Before the first race is scored it reads:
No races scored yet. The first results appear here on race night.
Entry list is the club’s own published list of boats: boat, sail, skipper, club and division, ten at a time. Worth knowing: this is the list the club publishes, not the list of people who entered through Slipside. If you enter here, you will not see yourself appear on it. Your entry is on the club’s roster in their race office, which is where it matters.
Documents is the club’s notice board: the notice of race, the sailing instructions, amendments, course sheets and results, each with the date it was posted. They open in a new tab.
A section with nothing in it is not shown at all, so a brand new event is a short page.
The box on the right
On a laptop a box sits beside the sections and follows you down the page. On a phone it moves above them.
What it says depends on the event:
- Register, with the price options and a button, when entries are open. See Entering an event.
- Join the waitlist when the event is full.
- You’re entered, with your boat, your status and what you owe, once you have entered. The button takes you to your entries.
- Registration with a Closed pill and no button at all, when entries are not open here. The wording is worth reading, because it is not a dead end:
Entries are not open for this event. Results and documents stay published here, and the club can still take a late entry directly.
Under the box, when there is a race coming, a small Next race card gives the date, the first warning and the club’s forecast note if they wrote one.
A dead link
Clubs re-cut their links when a series is renamed or rescheduled, so an old link out of a newsletter sometimes lands on a page reading This event link is dead. It offers a few events racing this week and a way back to the results. The racing is still on; the link just moved.
