Results and standings on the web

The Results hub

Results in the top bar is every race night in the harbor, newest first.

Nights are grouped under Upcoming, This week, Last week and then Earlier in whichever month. Each card gives the date, the club, the race, how many boats finished, a pill, and up to four fleet winners with their corrected times. Full results opens that event’s page.

At the bottom, Load earlier race nights brings in another two dozen.

Finding your boat

The search box on Results is the only one on the site that searches finishes, and it searches the whole archive, not just the nights on screen. Put in a boat name or sail number.

Sail numbers are stored exactly as they are painted, so search for yours the way it appears on the sail. If nothing comes back the page tells you the same thing:

That verbatim rule is not fussiness. The sail number is how a finish is matched to a boat, so a number recorded one way and searched another will not meet.

Provisional and Final

A pill on every scored race says which:

• Provisional in amber: published, but the protest time limit has not run out, so it can still change.
• Final in green: the club has marked its scoring final.

Finality belongs to the series, never to a single race, because protest windows and throwouts are decided across a season. So a race night stays Provisional until the whole series is marked final, even months later. One is never shown as the other.

The other pills you will see are Scheduled, Racing today and Cancelled.

Standings

Standings live on the event’s own page, not on the Results hub.

1. Open the event, from Results, Events or a club page.
2. Scroll to Standings.
3. When a series has more than one division, a row of chips names each one with its boat count. Tap a chip to switch. One division shows at a time.

The columns are rank, Boat, Sail, Skipper, Club, PHRF and Points. The top five show, and Show all N boats opens the rest. Beside the heading is the finality pill and, when the club publishes it, After N races.

Why there is no elapsed time

Corrected time is the result. Under PHRF it is the number that decides the race, so it is the one shown. Elapsed time is a working number for the race committee and it stays with them.

Two things the site will not do

Owing an entry fee never affects a result. A finish is a finish, and no public page shows who owes what.

A standings table has no link of its own. You can share an event page, and you can share a filtered Results list, but not a single division’s table or a single race’s finishes.
