The Registration card on an event page is what the sailor’s entry form is built from. Open it in edit mode to change any of it; the form updates at once.

The basics

State (open, late entry or closed), Entry fee, an optional Late fee with the date it starts, Registration opens and closes, an Entry cap with a waitlist behind it, a Note to sailors about payment for clubs that do not take cards, and the Entry terms every sailor has to tick.

To enter, sailors declare is the set of boxes the notice of race requires: a US Sailing membership, a club membership, a class membership. A declared membership is checked where Slipside can check it; a club membership against the club’s own member list.

Your own questions

The form also asks is the event’s extra questions. Two come ready made:

  • Expected crew count, a number. The list totals it.
  • Boat length (pre-filled from the boat). Slipside fills it from the boat’s PHRF certificate or the boat type when it knows the length; the sailor can correct it.

Under those, Add a question makes your own: a label (T-shirt size), a kind (text, number, yes/no, or a choice with the options listed Small, Medium, Large), whether it is required, and an optional line of help. Answers show on each entry’s row and in the CSV, one column per question.

Keep it to what the race committee will use. Every required question is one more thing between a sailor and Submit entry.

Discounts

The Discounts section sits under the prices. Add discount asks for:

  • a Label (what sailors see), such as US Sailing member;
  • what it takes off: an amount in dollars or a percentage of the base price;
  • who gets it: US Sailing members, Host club members, Class members, or Anyone with a code, with the code.

The sailor ticks what applies on the form (a club membership is checked against the member list), or types the code, and the saving comes off before they pay. Several discounts stack in the order listed and never take the price below zero; the late fee is added after them. Each discount can be switched off without deleting it, and the entry keeps a record of which ones it got, which the CSV shows under Discounts.

Discounts are a section over the prices, not separate prices, so a whole-series price and a race-by-race price share the same ones.

Still stuck? Email support@slipside.app and say which club and which race; a race officer’s question is answered the same day.
