What Slipside Racing is

racing.slipside.app is the Slipside racing website. It is where the harbor’s events live: the schedule, the documents, the entry list, the results and the standings. Clubs run their own racing; Slipside supplies the registration, the scoring and the page you read afterwards.

What you can do without an account

Most of it. Looking is open to everyone, on purpose:

• Search for a series or a club, and open any event.
• Read the schedule, the notice of race and the sailing instructions.
• Read the results of any race night and the standings for any series.
• Look at any club’s page.

You need an account only to enter an event, to pay, and to see your own entries, boats and race record.

What needs the phone app

The website and the app are the same account and the same data, but a few things happen only in the app:

• Adding or editing a boat. The website shows your boats and uses them on an entry, but it cannot create or change one.
• Changing your password or your photo.
• Live harbor conditions and your crew list.
• A notification the moment your race is scored.

Everything else, including entering, paying, withdrawing and building your race record, works in a browser.

The four things in the top bar

Events, Results, FAQ and For Clubs. There is a theme toggle beside them, and either a Sign in button or your name. On a phone the four collapse into a menu button.

For Clubs is written for race organizers rather than sailors. If you are curious about how a club runs its racing here, it is worth a read; nothing on it is needed to go sailing.
