Signing in on the web
The three ways in, what happens when you create an account with an email address, and what you can change about your account in a browser.

It is the same free account as the Slipside app. Signing in on the website brings your boats, your entries and your race record with you.
The three ways in
- Continue with Apple
- Continue with Google
- An Email and Password at the bottom, under the line or with an email address
Tabs at the top switch between Sign in and Create account. Creating an account adds a Your name field, with the hint that it is the name that appears on an entry list.
If you create an account with an email address
Slipside sends you a confirmation link and the page changes to Check your email. Open the link in that message and you are signed in.
One thing to watch: the link brings you into the site, but not necessarily back to whatever you were doing. If you were part way through entering an event, open the event again afterwards and start the entry.
Signing in with Apple or Google does return you to where you were.
There is no password reset here
The website has no Forgot password link. If you cannot remember your password, use Continue with Apple or Continue with Google if the account was made that way, or reset it in the Slipside app, which is the same account.
What you can change in a browser
Open your name at the top right, then Profile, then the Account tab.
Your details holds your Name, Sailing since, whether you usually sail as Skipper or Crew, your Experience, a tick box for owning a boat, and your Home club. Nothing saves until you press Save changes; you should see:
Saved. The app picks this up next time it loads.
A blank name is refused, because it goes on entry lists.
Club affiliations is the list of clubs you belong to. Add and Remove take effect immediately, with no save. It is worth reading the note under it:
Membership here is what you tell us. A club verifies its own members separately, and that is what unlocks member pricing when a club offers it.
Sign-in shows your email address, and it is not editable here.
What the website cannot change
- Your password and your photo. Both live in the app.
- Your email address.
- Your boats. The website shows them and uses them on an entry, but adding, editing and deleting a boat all happen in the app. That matters most for the sail number, because it is what matches results to your boat.
