Entries, confirming boats and the CSV
The entry list on an event page, sorting it, confirming and reminding boats, adding a boat by hand, and exporting every field to a spreadsheet.
Also known as: entries, entrants, entry list, confirm, pending, mark paid, withdraw, remind to pay, reminder, unpaid, add a boat, walk-up, sort by sail number, sort by class, CSV, export, spreadsheet, Excel, custom questions, answers, discounts, boat photo, race only
The Entries tab of an event page is the club’s roster: everyone who entered through Slipside, and, for an event the club lists elsewhere, the published list beside them.
Reading the list
The header has a CLASS | SAIL | BOAT control. CLASS groups the boats by class, as a start sheet would. SAIL and BOAT flatten them into one list sorted by sail number (9 before 10, boats with no number last) or by name, with the class shown on each row so it is never lost. The choice is remembered in your browser.
Each row carries the sail, the boat (with her photo when the owner added one), the skipper, the club, the rating and its check, the status pill, what is owed, and three things an entry can add:
- RACE 3 ONLY on a boat entered for one race of a series. She is on that race’s sheets and no other.
- The answers to the club’s questions, as one line: Crew 8 · 36 ft · Dinner: Yes. Number questions are totalled under the list, so a dinner count or a crew total is read off without a spreadsheet.
- Also notify when the skipper gave an extra address for the club’s notices.
The club always sees the skipper’s full name. If the sailor chose an initial for the public list, that affects only the public list.
Confirming, paying, withdrawing
A new entry is Pending: it is on the public entry list with a pending tag, in the class its rating implies. Confirm settles it and the tag goes. Check the rating first; the row’s rating check tells you when the PHRF list disagrees.
Mark paid records a payment the club took itself (cash, a cheque, the club’s own card reader). Card payments through Slipside mark themselves. Withdraw takes a boat off without deleting the record.
Reminding boats to pay
A boat that owes money has a Remind button (club admin only). It emails the skipper on the club’s behalf, with a Pay link when the club takes cards or the club’s payment note when it does not, and sends a notification to the Slipside app if the skipper has it. The button then reads Remind · 2d ago, so nobody reminds twice by accident. Remind all unpaid · 7 at the top of the list does the same for every unpaid boat, one after another.
Boats on a member account, and entries with no email on file, are skipped.
Adding a boat by hand
Add a boat takes an entry the club received some other way: a phone call, a walk-up on the dock. Sail, boat, skipper, class, rating, and, for a single-race price, Which race?, plus how the fee is being handled: Collect offline (she owes the club) or No fee. The boat lands on the list as confirmed.
The CSV
Export CSV writes one row per entry with every field the entry has: event, sail, boat, skipper, club, make and model, division, rating with its factor, source and check, non-spinnaker, tags, the declarations ticked, status, entry type, races included, the race for a single-race entry, fee, discounts applied, payment method and settlement, member number (club admin only), terms accepted, entered and updated times, source, membership, then one column per question the club asked, the boat photo link and the extra notification address. It opens in Excel or Numbers as it is.
Still stuck? Email support@slipside.app and say which club and which race; a race officer’s question is answered the same day.
